Process control is a key action to ensure greater system efficiency and the quality of the final product. lt is estimated that more than 90% of the control systems used in the industry today are of the PIO type, with the largest portion being PI type controllers. Knowing the importance and need for level control in processes, since this type of variable directly interferes in the quality of the process and product, and even in manufacturing safety, this work sought to analyze level control strategies based on PI control, using LabVIEW and Arduino, in a didactic level control plan. To this end, the transfer function of the didactic plant was experimentally determined, its behavior was simulated in different PIO adjustment parameters through the Scilab software, experimentally applying different controller tuning methods and determined which method offered the best efficiency to the control system and finally, identifying which types of processes the proposed strategy could be applied to. The application of different tuning methods proved to be promising, since all of them showed real application potential. The determination of the transfer function of the didactic plan used was made considering it linearly, returning a first order transfer function with a delay time. lt was possible to prepare the block diagram and simulate the behavior of the system through the Scilab software, which proved to satisfactorily predict the behavior of the system. The PI control system tuned by the Gain Limit method showed a slight superiority in relation to other tuning methods, having its application indicated for replacement/feeding processes of raw material, maintenance of predetermined manufacturing conditions, among others. The importance of level control in preventing environmental accidents was identified.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES
