WebVOWL: Visualization of individuals into ontolgies
Descripción
Ontologies are increasingly important for tasks such as information integration, knowledge-level interoperability, and knowledge-based development time. This requires methods and tools that allow working with ontologies and related data. There are many approaches to visualize ontologies graphically; however, there are few visualizations that show complete ontological information, i.e. all the classes and properties along with their attributes, most approaches focus only on certain aspects. WebVOWL (Web Based Visualization of Ontologies) is a web application for user-oriented visualization of ontologies that implements visual notation for OWL (Web Ontology Language) ontologies based on open web standards. Visualizations are automatically generated from JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) files in which ontologies need to be converted providing graphical representations. This research uses the methodology of VOWL and WebVOWL as the web tool for the visualization of ontologies based on graphic schemes that describe how to define an ontology. As a result, it complements what WebVOWL offers by adding within the definition of individuals (class-instance) a clear distinction between the individuals and the other elements (classes, subclasses, properties, data type, literals, etc.) that model the ontology in WebVOWL, obtaining the visualization of individuals within an ontologyConsejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología
