This monograph proposes focusing and reflecting on the constitution of masculinities in the culture, especially its representations in cinema. For that, the work analyzes the representations of masculinities in the characters of the movie The Lighthouse – directed by Robert Eggers (2019) – looking at the construction of their images. To address this matter, psychological aspects are approached, as well as the construction of their masculine identities and the strategic use of violence as a mechanism for dominance
