Mortalidade de pacientes com doença do aparelho circulatório: um estudo de caso controle aninhado numa coorte
Descrição
Chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) were responsible for 63% of all deaths in the world in 2008. CNCDs have been characterized by their long duration and irreversibility, and the following groups of diseases can be mentioned: those of the circulatory system , neoplasms, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes mellitus. In Brazil, CNCDs were also the main cause of mortality. In 2009, they accounted for 72.4% of all deaths (Schmidt et al.). Diseases of the circulatory system, in turn, represented the greatest burden of mortality among these diseases (Sociedade Brasileira de Cardiologia, 2009). Recent data from the World Health Organization have shown that circulatory system diseases, particularly acute myocardial infarction (AMI), were the main cause of disability and morbidity and mortality in both sexes, both in the world and in Brazil (Lloyd-Jones et al. al., 2010; Mendis et al., 2011; WHO 2011; Moran et al., 2012).Nenhuma
