This research refers to an analysis of critical indicators that may be associated to risks of mental health in teacher labor context. Data collection was done with 52 professors, in a campus of one public Higher Educational Institution of the Amazon region. With the theoretical basis in Psychodynamics Clinic of Work [Psychodynamique Clinique du travail], was used a sociodemographic and labor questionnaire and three scales of the Inventory of Work and Illness Risk - ITRA. The results are divided in two empirical studies. In the first study, quantitative, with descriptive and analytical approach, the evaluated indicators as more critical were the working conditions, socioprofessional relationships, burnout and physical damage. In the second study, with descriptive approach and mixed analysis results, the difficulties associated with work context were related with the infrastructure of the Institution, socioprofessional relationships and workload. The results suggests the necessity for planned and collective actions to health maintenance of these professors, due to workload and working conditions, aiming to prevent future illnesses and reverse some cases that are already at critical levels.FAPEAM - Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Amazonas
