“Smart city”: uma abordagem a partir da experiência de inovação social

As cities have faced exponential urban growth in recent decades, new problems have emerged, creating an urgent need for solutions to management and monitoring of urban rise. Thus, Smart Cities emerge as a new alternative that focuses on solutions and initiatives to support the transformation of current standards, solving, therefore, complex urban issues. In this context, social innovations can be a critical factor in the construction of a new model for cities in the process of collective learning and social knowledge. From this paradigm, the present study intends answer the following research question: "What contributions a social innovation experience can bring to improve a Smart City proposal", deepening the way social innovation is approached, in the context of Smart Cities. A qualitative approach was implemented to achieve the general objective of this study, using the case study method. Data collection occurred through open interviews. Later, data were cataloged and analyzed accordingly. Thus, this research proposes an analysis model for cities to be smarter through the analysis of social innovation projects and initiatives.
