A construção de uma memória: as comemorações do centenário da imigração italiana na região da ex-colônia Silveira Martins (1975-1993)
Descripción
Between 1975 and 1993, the ex-colônia Silveira Martins - present-day municipalities of Silveira Martins, Ivorá, Faxinal do Soturno, Sao Joao do Polesine, Nova Palma, Dona Francisca and Pinhal Grande - organized and experienced the festivities allusive to the Italian Immigration Centenary. Located in the central region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, the place was colonized by Italian immigrants in the late nineteenth century. The fourth colonization nucleus differed from the first three located in the Serra region (Dona Isabel, Campos dos Bugres and Conde d'Eu), as it was not part of the official celebrations of the Bienio of Colonization and Immigration, established in 1973 and solemnized between 1974 and 1975.In this sense, the objective of this thesis is to problematize the act of celebrating the Italian Immigration Centenary in the fourth nucleus of colonization, identifying the festive events, their participation and the organization, perceiving the elements of construction of a memory and an identity narrative. Understand better how these communities planned the Centenary festivities, seeking to understand the different internal dynamics of the festive manifestations, is the justification for this thesis. To develop this research, were used official documents (reports, decrees, laws on the Biênio), newspapers, photographs, folders, monuments, among others, which indicated for the festivities that occurred in the colonial region. To develop this research, were used official documents (reports, decrees, laws on the Biênio), newspapers, photographs, folders, monuments, among others, which indicated for the festivities that occurred in the colonial region. The parties were understood as the act of celebrating and building a memory and an identity narrative about the Italian migratory process. For this, the monuments, little chapels, the songs, the gastronomy, the procession and the catholic mass are presented as elements of faith and culture, being builders of an identity narrative among the descendants. The research highlighted the activities, means and agents that provided the construction of an identity narrative during the commemorations of the Centenary of Italian Immigration in the ex-colonia Silveira Martins.CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior
