The dissertation aims to verify whether the Senate of the Republic complies, on its website, the article 5 (XXXIII) and article 37 of the Federal Constitution and the Law 12.527/2011, which determine, among other points, that public transparency is the right of Administrated and duty of the administrator. Therefore, the phenomenological-hermeneutic method and the inductive method were used. From (i) bibliographic research on the law of Access to information, (ii) Research on transparency in Brazil and in the World (iii) of data collected on the electronic site of the Senate of the Republic and (iv) of the information provided through the system of Information to the citizen, it was concluded that the Federal Senate does not allow social control in an acceptable degree. Not allowing the citizen to supervise their actions, especially regarding their expenses, hindering the understanding of information with technical information, exposing information in a generic way or not allowing access to information with details that allow social control.Nenhuma
