Rastreamento do transtorno do espectro do autismo na consulta de enfermagem com a aplicação do m-chat

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To empower nurses of primary care in the city of Caxias, to use the M-CHAT test with parents or caregivers of children aged 18 to 24 months. METHOD: a descriptive intervention study with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 25 nurses from 18 Family Health Strategy (FHS), of the urban area of Caxias-MA. All the nurses have been trained to implement the M-CHAT test. The intervention was carried from 2015, May to November on the FHS. RESULTS: The training of nurses was held in 2015, May. The M-CHAT was applied in 120 children from 18 FHS. They screened 11 children, 7 girls and 4 boys. The mothers was benefitial more prevalent among those responsible for childcare consultation. CONCLUSION: These findings lead us to conclude that the use of the M-CHAT in the screening for children between the ages of 18 to 24 months, increasing the chances of an early diagnostics for disorder autism spectrum.
