The theory of contemporary design, especially guided by questions that seek to define quality of life, says that an alternative model for the current consumer society is one who thinks the projects within a cycle of life and seeks to make possible the social, environmentally and economically sustainable manner. Accordingly, we assume that it is necessary in the context of design, a rescue activities that make us closer to the matter and the human experience, in the process redeeming values that allow individuals to recognize themselves as members integrated within a collective. From this perspective, consider that the relationship design and craft, through the creative stimulation and cooperativity, expressed the possibility of testing this locus. This research explores and analyzes theoretically the locus of design and craft, seeking to expose their qualities and contradictions, through case study Mão Gaucha. This craft project area was launched nationally and is considered an example of organization / cooperative craft. However, the brand, which belongs to COOPARIGS, failed to stay organized and productive as it was intended. This survey was conducted in Porto Alegre, with artisans, designers and institutions connected with the organization in order to understand what the mistakes made that led to the weakening and possible extinction of the organization and what are the contributions of strategic design for a consolidation scenario of the organization.Nenhuma
