dc.description.abstract | The PROEJA is a public policy established by Decree 5.840/2006, which articulates the Vocational and Technical Education and Basic Education in the form of youth and adults education with the proposal for an integral formation of the human being. In this respect, it was investigated the changes promoted in the lives of students who have completed the Technical Course in Kitchen Integrated to High School, at IFPI, campus Teresina South Zone, whereas the proposal for integral formation and the emancipation of workers participating in the course in the world of work, evidencing the joints / connections and contributions to / with local development. The research was based on a qualitative approach, with methodological design case study. For production data, were used: document analysis to know how the proposed PROEJA articulates/connects with local development; semi-open questionnaire of exploratory nature; semi-structured interviews with eight former students and a maitre d' at a restaurant. The main concepts used were: the concept of education postulating an emancipatory perspective and the development, different from mere economic growth, which prioritize effectively the living conditions of the people. Main theorists who paved the way of this study were: Manfredi (2002); Frigotto (1995, 2004, 2005a, 2005b); Ciavatta (2005, 2008, 2010); Kuenzer (1998, 2009); Ramos (2005, 2007, 2010); Adams (2010); Freire (2000, 2001a, 2001b, 2011a, 2011b); Pinto (2010); Sachs (2007, 2008); Furtado (2000, 2002, 2004); Dowbor (2006). Among the main results are: the rescue of self-esteem; improved relations in the family, in society and at work; the expansion of worldview; awareness of incompleteness; the understanding and use of good manufacturing practices; insertion into the market the work of the majority of graduates, not an emancipation perspective, as you want in the design of integral education, but along the lines of the capitalist system. | en |
