This thesis aims to deal with the issue of education of women in situation of deprivation of liberty. It presents the study done from theoretical-empirical methodology which investigated how the educative experience took place the in an undergraduate course to women prisoners at the Female Penitentiary Madre Pelletier (FPMP). This study is conducted with the proper look of Social Science, which allows an understanding of the issue of educating women prisoners as a serious social problem to be faced. This survey seeks to understand and identify the possibilities and difficulties related to the education of women deprived of their liberty, and also to contribute to the education and prison systems, by showing possibilities for higher education in prison. The material of the analysis was based on records made in field journal, as well as on interviews with women prisoners, prison officers and employees of the prison. The conducted case study shows the process of inclusion of women prisoners in higher education, in particular, the relationship between them, the employees and the prison officers who studied together during the process of graduation in Social Service, within the Penitentiary. The studied experience leads to the conclusion that the process of educating women in Higher level in the context of prison presents significant contributions to the prisoners as well as to the greater humanization of the other employees and agents involved in the educational experience.Nenhuma
