Abstract

Two studies are presented in this paper with the intent to deepen the knowledge on the work of school managers as well as the subject of the meaning of work. The first one is a

theoretical study entitled: State of the Art of the Meaning of Work. The objective of this research was to make a bibliographical survey of the productions of the last years to check how the meaning of work has been boarded in the field of Psychology. Different databases were consultations and congregate national and international publications. Considering the national and international researches the general results had shown that the majority of the

studies used the qualitative research method (21), in detriment of the theoretician (10), quantitative (2) and mixing (2). The theoretical references most used were: group MOW,
