The families have transformed to match the changes in our society, such as: the globalization, the new technologies, the culture, the entering of the women in the labor market, the equality of rights, the sexual emancipation, the divorce, etc. This report describes a research that was done with preschool children from a Public School of Erechim, which is supported by the city government. Its first aim is to check the level of affection and conflict in different low-income households, which have preschool kids; the second one is to assess the behavior problems preschool children display, having as a basis the mother’s and teacher’s point of view on it; the third has to do with the analysis of possible differences in affection and family conflict, and the children’s behavior problems in different families; the last one is to check if there are differences in the mother’s and teacher’s perceptions on the children’s behavior problems.
