Estratégias competitivas na indústria de máquinas e implementos agrícolas do Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

The Brazilian industry of machinery and agricultural implement, and specially the one located in Rio Grande do Sul State, is among the best structured in the world, covering markets with competence and quality, besides some juncture difficulties that have affected it since 2004. Considering the importance of this industrial sector for the local economy, this study tries to identify and analyze the competitive strategies used by industries installed in Rio Grande do Sul State and components of this industry. Based on primary and secondary data, we try to analyze the internal and external environment factors for the industry, related to strategies, competitiveness and competitive pattern. The research reveals that the biggest worry of the industries is related to the technological innovations and their changeable, considered important in establishing strategies and capacity for the actuation and growth in the market.
