It is undeniable that the presence of the television, both in big and small Brazilian cities, interferes in, is linked to, is present in the ways of behaving, thinking and creating new everyday co-existence strategies at home or in the streets. The aim of this work is to show the other side of this issue, that is, to point out what the audience figures do to the television, how its constituents, the active social actors, operate the various devices of mediated interactions in the local everyday communication networks in the appropriation of the mediatic products offered by the television. It was upon the tensions existing in the interaction relationships between the subjects constituent of the audience and the television that this work reflected; how the appropriation processes take place, how the mediatic products are reinvented in the everyday use and consumption of a community who lives in a small city in the countryside of Paraíba.
