Abstract

This dissertation presents a study about the implementation of the ProJovem - National Program of inclusion of Youths - in Porto Alegre/RS, from 2005 to 2007. It investigates the implementation of the ProJovem considering the youth’s perspective. The students involved in the research had concluded the course and were able to speak about their experience in the program as well as its principles and

contradictions. The goal is to evaluate the implementation of the ProJovem in the city of Porto Alegre /RS by analyzing the present contradictions in its design, all under the perspectives of the young participants. The critical theory is the foundation

of the research in addition to the thought of Gramsci, Frigotto, Freire, Kuenzer, and others. In terms of the ideas related to the youth, the basis is the works from Sposito, Abramovay, Abramo, and others. As epistemological option, the study applies the principles of the Dialectics, having a theoretical-methodological chart that emphasizes a qualitative study. It
