The University of Hawaii at Hilo project on bivalve aquaculture development and shellfish sanitation in Latin America builds on six years of CRSP work. Bivalves are a heavily utilized resource throughout the region, with some of
the more marginalized groups of the population heavily dependent upon them for income and food.
