This work aimed to analyze how knowledge management contributes to the social transformation developed by private colleges. The methodology used is constituted through the qualitative method, exploratory research, single case study, as well as interviews carried out with the graduates and leaders of the HEI object of study, with the SEBRAE manager of the city of Itaberaba/Ba and a portion of the local businessman. With the application of the questionnaire, the data collected brought results where it was noticed the lack of knowledge on the part of the population about how the actions and activities of the HEI are developed, which requires private investment for infrastructure and hiring trained professionals to carry out their activities effectively. However, the final considerations are positive since the research provided knowledge of non-evident concepts of the HEI, its transforming role, and the role of the community with that information. Actions were proposed to remedy the weaknesses presented by the researched HEI. Based on the research results, improvement actions were proposed using the 5w2h.Faculdade de Santa Cruz da Bahia - FSC
