At time of profound social changes in Brazilian society and consequently in Public Policies, it is necessary to analyze and understand the impacts they have on society as a whole. In this sense, this dissertation is the result of a long research work that seeks to present, through a case study, a sociological analysis regarding the perception of teachers at a state public school that make up the state education network in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil on the impacts that public education policies have on the so-called street-level bureaucracy and consequently on the way these teachers carry out their teaching work in a scenario of dismantling in the different spheres that make up public education in Brazil. This Dissertation also includes a sociological analysis of the processes involving austerity policies, bringing as an example the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution 241 / Constitutional Amendment 95 and its more concrete impacts on Brazilian basic public education.CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior
