The purpose of this paper is to highlight and understand the aesthetic experience as a gateway to knowledge of the Will in Schopenhauer's philosophy. The aesthetic experience, which is a way of perceiving the exterior things by pure contemplation, regardless the principle of reason (time, space, and causality), allows us to achieve a high degree of awareness to which, at such state, not only do we know the phenomenon, but, above all, the image of the Will, the essence of all the things, in a clearer way as they are Ideas, and in degrees. It is some sort of knowledge devoid of reason and everything that involves causal relationships and affirmation of the Will of life, which causes pain and blurs our knowledge. This contemplation is made in a very special way by the artist who has the genius, whose faculty of knowledge allows us to access the inner essence of the things. In this perspective of knowledge, there is a great deal of knowledge sharing following the principle of reason to another route, by which one can search based on the notion of the body (Will drive) and the notion of feeling (Beauty, Sublime, and Fantasy). The art work produced by a genius has, as its origin, the apprehension of ideas intuited in nature and, as its end, the communication of those ideas. Such way of knowledge is considered privileged by both the degree of clairvoyance achieved and the possibility to be spread in a variety of art works.en
