La estética y la imaginación como dimensiones revolucionarias: la propuesta de Herbert Marcuse para la liberación de la sociedad industrial avanzada

Abstract

La sociedad industrial avanzada representa actualmente materia fértil de reflexión puesto que nos coloca frente a un contexto social, económico, político, cultural y ecológico sin paradigma. La Escuela de Frankfurt representa uno de los principales esfuerzos intelectuales de nuestro tiempo por intentar comprender el movimiento del capitalismo avanzado y las consecuencias que genera tanto a nivel individual como a nivel social, siendo Herbert Marcuse uno de sus principales representantes, quien a través de un trabajo reflexivo, creativo y lúcido, permite colocarnos en una posición de asombro y honesta preocupación por los tiempos de hoy. El presente trabajo de investigación explora no sólo las consecuencias del sistema actual, sino también la posibilidad de encontrar en nosotros mismos el potencial necesario para dirigir el barco de nuestra historia a puertos más esperanzadores.

Advanced industrial society represents in our time a fertile material of reflection that places us in a social, economic, political, cultural and ecological context without paradigm. The Frankfurt School represents one of the main intellectual efforts of our time for trying to understand the movement of advanced capitalism and the incidences it generates individually and socially, being Herbert Marcuse one of its main representatives, who through a reflective, lucid and creative work, allows us to stand in a position of astonishment and honest concern for today´s times. This research work explores not only the consequences of the current system, but also the possibility of finding the potential need in ourselves to lead the ship of our History to more hopeful ports.
