dc.description.abstract | The present research has as its central theme the industrial development as a
prerequisite for boosting the regional development and was carried out with the
objective of identifying the Undesirable Effects (UE's) presents in a sample of
specialized industrial activities in seven municipalities in the northeast region of the
State of RS, where 95 UE’s were identified and, later, 55 projects focused on regional
development, which were compared during the research. The present work is a study
of case that uses the deductive method and has a predominantly qualitative approach.
Of the 95 UE's, listed through the Current Reality Tree (CRT) tool, eight UE’s were
considered the main causes that allow the appearance of other UE's in the system, for
which there is potential for solution, three of which are the priorities. This research
concludes that have a direct connection between the key constraints and other
intermediate UE's on the CRT, such as defining the Theory of Constraints (TOC),
resulting in the loss of competitiveness of companies in the microregion, seen in the
economic indicators analyzed. There is a gap between the UE’s and projects currently
identified, which can be complemented by public policies and strategies based on the
endogenous potential of the region. This potential was observed, empirically, from
activities that have local specialization and market leadership at a national level,
regional entrepreneurial vocation, complete industrial activities system of varied
nature, possibility of better use by companies of locally developed innovations and,
finally, the high number of educational institutions that can be partners with companies
in boost the industrial and the regional development, whether through professional
qualification, innovations or co-development. | en |
