The general goal of this thesis work is to provide a methodology to perform measurements on various commercial Bluetooth low energy (BLE) platforms. The electronic commercial boards presented in this work are manufactured by Intel-Arduino, NXP, Cypress, Microsoft-RaspberryPi3 and Texas Instruments. The average current and the total power consumed are obtained by capturing and post-processing oscilloscope waveforms of BLE connection and advertising events. The measurement results will be used to estimate the battery life using different advertising and connection interval parameters and power consumed during a particular event. The users of this thesis will have a solid and well-documented reference to help them choose one of the presented platforms or replicate the physical experiments on different platforms
