Plataformização da vigilância no trabalho: uma tecnografia nas plataformas Time Doctor e Teramind
Description
This dissertation aims to analyze surveillance imaginaries and materialities imposed through the Time Doctor and Teramind user activity monitoring platforms (UAM). For the investigation of this work, I start from the concepts of Neoliberal Rationality, Surveillance and Automation, which act strongly both in the construction, operation and imaginaries of these platforms. For this, I use the methodology of Technography proposed by Taina Bucher, which makes it possible to take surveillance platforms out of the black box, observing what is possible from the inputs and outputs of data beyond the possible imaginaries of the object. In this work, I found elements present in the management and control of workers since the first studies of scientific management in the early 19th century, regarding the potential and possibilities of entering the work environment in depth. It is evident the penetration of capture, data processing and, mainly, their transformation into graphs, whose representation serves as input for managers' decision-making. This dissertation contributes to the area of communication by discussing the transformations of practices that extinguish micromanagement, by imposing an analysis mechanism capable of extracting information and policing workers in favor of productivity. Furthermore, it shows that the possibilities of eletronic surveillance on the proletariat transform not only the work environment, but the entire power relationship between employers and workers.CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior
