dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this research is to analyze the structure of import and export operations at Porto Alegre International Airport, through the drawing of the flows of these processes, in addition to presenting the investment movements and future projections for the inclusion of new international air routes. The International Air Cargo Terminal of Porto Alegre, located in the Salgado Filho International Airport (as known as Porto Alegre Airport), is currently operated by Fraport Brasil. The company is responsible for the expansion and operations boost in the airport. The main authors that support this conclusion work are Razzolini Filho (2009), Keedi (2009) and Segalis, França and Atsumi (2012) and also Harrington (1993) and Sordi (2005). The research was based on an exploratory research, which allows the study of the subject from different angles and aspects. This research sought to analyze the actual structure of the airport through a field study and the data collection took place through interviews and documentary investigation. Based on the survey applied, the specific objectives were answered, and the analysis was done throughout the categories of the 5W2H tool. From this analysis, a mapping was carried out and the flows of the air import and export processes at the airport were presented, in addition to showing the main bottlenecks that were found. As a main answer, it was observed that the existing structure of the Porto Alegre Airport and the International Air Cargo Terminal bears the current cargo movements, but there is potential for growth and increasing of these numbers and, consequently, for the economy of the state of Rio Grande do Sul as a whole. | en |
