The purpose of this thesis is to analyze not only the role of journalistic sources today, the relations, tensions, and noise in journalism, but mainly how new technological platforms have helped journalists build news. Thus, the object of our study is the show Estúdio I, on Globo News (Brazil). The justification for choosing this show is the possibility of having contact with different journalistic practices involving relations with sources, as well as observing – in loco – how technological resources used in electronic magazines contribute to producing journalism. Inspired by ethnography, the present research was based on participant observation techniques of the production routines of an edition of the live show. The discussion of sources of information made use of theoretical intake regarding the construction of the concept of typologies, on the one hand; and criticism of journalism directed to the self-interests of journalists, sources, and professionalization, on the other hand. Based on the analysis of data obtained from observing productive processes, one can see that though Estúdio I presents a different format from other shows broadcast by Globo News, the use of sources in interviews, and the edition of utterances and images, does not result in a format that stands out. Although the evolution of TV language has already been identified, we realized that none of this will make any difference without a more effective participation of the public regarding the concession and appropriation of new information for the show. Journalistic theory states that without sources there is no news; thus, since structural changes concerning language in shows can be observed, changes in the universe of sources must also be considered, and these sources should become potential agents in the construction of information.en
