dc.description.abstractStudies have shown that a subgroup of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IB-D) follows with high intestinal permeability, which the correct diagnostic can support in the actual diagnosis of IBS and its treatment. There are several non invasive tests available several to evaluate intestinal permeability, each one with yours advantages and disadvantages. The aim of this paper is to review which intestinal permeability tests have been used to evaluate the IBS-D and if they are appropriate for this condition.en
