dc.description.abstract | In the last years the competition in the industrial world has increased significantly, boosting up the emerging of new challenges and opportunities on the way of organizing and managing the production. The aim of this case study made at Altus S.A. is to analyze the current planning and to suggest changes in the process. These may trigger the material planning introduction to the NEXTO Programmable Logic Controller series. The results of this research show that these two points are extremely important and of interest on the managing of production operation and therefore, must be modified and inserted in the company’s process, since these are considered agents capable of reducing or promoting the production environment flexibility, and consequently impacting on the global results of the company. Among the improvement actions there is the resumption of the MRP practice and the production lead time reduction. The latter, being subsidized by the material planning inclusion and bounded to the company’s long-term plan. | en |
