This paper is a case study that sought to analyze a specific problem situation with a view to proposing a layout to the productive sector of a processing company and distributor of glass and mirrors. The study was based on data obtained at the company studied, as well as on interviews with employees and officials of the company being used as templates auxiliary instruments at this stage. The research has evolved to a stage observatory in the productive sector of the company, as well as the theoretical study of the theme layout as a way to demonstrate the feasibility of implementing a functional layout to the productive sector of the analyzed company, from the possibilities and limitations of it, so as based on the nature of the activity, the points being demonstrated favorable and unfavorable to the implementation of this type of layout. As a conclusion of this study the researcher proposed a functional layout to the productive sector, whose improvements were analyzed and demonstrated based on the flow of some of the company's products. Also justified the reasons by which it was found that the implementation of a functional layout in this particular case would bring improvements to the productive sector of the company and the reasons for the implementation of any of the other types of layout does not provide advantages or improvements.
