| dc.description.abstract | The HIV / AIDS epidemic is a global concern, since in 2015, it was estimated that 36.7 million people were living with the HIV virus in the world. (UNAIDS, 2016). In Brazil, this estimate, in the same year, was 827 million, and the state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS) was among the federative units with the highest detection rate in the last 10 years of the epidemic. (BRASIL, 2016a). In the state, data until the year 2013 show that approximately 89,312 people would be infected with the HIV virus. (RIO GRANDE DO SUL, 2015). The care of people living with HIV / AIDS (PLWHA), by the Unified Health System (SUS), is done through a network composed of services with different configurations, among them are the Specialized Services in HIV / AIDS (SAE) and Infectious Outpatient Clinics linked or not to hospital institutions. The actions carried out in the services range from health promotion and disease prevention to conducts related to care, treatment, monitoring and surveillance, with the guideline of comprehensive and universal health care for PLWHA, striving for the improvement of the quality of life of users.
