Perfil dos usuários de medicamentos do componente especializado da assistência farmacêutica no município de São Leopoldo, RS

The objective of this study was to describe the demographic and pharmacotherapeutic drug users’ profiles of the Specialized Component of Pharmaceutical Care (CEAF), and in addition, account expenses on the most prevalent drugs and more expensive drugs. This is a descriptive study, making use of secondary data from the municipal pharmacy central unit in São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The study included information on all users of CEAF of medicines by administrative process request granted in 2014. The profile data come from the system AME® and cost data were obtained by means of drug delivery notes of the SES-RS. In total, 1,528 people were served by CEAF, most women (56.7%), average age 52, with higher prevalence of the chapters of ICD-10 which include diseases of the respiratory system (18.7%), diseases the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue (17.3%) and diseases of the genitourinary system (12.4%), among which are the diagnoses, predominantly allergic asthma, rheumatoid arthritis and kidney disease in end-stage respectively. The most prevalent drug was budesonide + formoterol fumarate, used in allergic asthma, which despite widespread use, did not represent the biggest expense. The highest total monthly spending among the most prevalent drugs was with epoetin alfa, and among the most expensive drugs, infliximab, representing almost double the total monthly expenses with epoetin alfa. Data from this study point to the importance of this component in the treatment of high cost of comorbidities with a high prevalence.Nenhuma
