Relações entre regulação emocional, coparentalidade e sintomas emocionais e comportamentais em adolescentes

The aim of this dissertation was to investigate a structural model between coparenting, emotional and behavioral problems in adolescents considering emotional regulation as a mediator. In addition to specify direct and indirect relationships between variables. A quantitative, cross-sectional and explanatory research was presented through two empirical studies. A total of 229 adolescents aged 11 to 18 years were evaluated. The collection was carried out in schools, and the participants answered a socio-demographic questionnaire, the Youth Self-Report (YSR), Emotional Regulation Difficulties Scale - DERS, Coparenting Inventory for Parent and Adolescents – CI-PA and Antisocial Behavior Scale. In study 1 a structural model was proposed between coparenting and internalizing symptoms considering the mediation of emotional regulation. In study 2 we proposed a structural model of interaction between coparenting, emotional regulation and externalizing symptoms, we investigated the direct and indirect relationships existing in this model. The results indicated that regulation is an important mediator between coparenting and emotional and behavioral symptoms in adolescents. Moreover, the dissertation pointed out the importance of coparental triangulation as an important predictor of emotional regulation difficulties and consequently of internalizing and externalizing symptoms.CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior
