Description
Industries with potential risks in their production processes generally require attention and focus on work by operators when preventing and fighting occupational accidents. Meanwhile, the employer is responsible for the safety of its employees. On the other hand, technical standards establish the minimum and essential safety and health guidelines for the use of machinery and equipment. In this context, this work presents a case study of the application of Regulatory Standard 12 and other standards applicable to a robotic cell designed to automatically stack product boxes above a pallet. In this case study after the identification of hazards, the requirements for the level of security necessary for the safety functions were established, as well as the specification of the main applicable safety measures. The design of the safety system takes into account the use of mechanical protection devices and electro-sensitive protective equipment dimensioned and installed in accordance with the main applicable technical standards.
