The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of an online computerized system. The expansion of career counseling over the internet has existed in Europe and in the United States of America since the 1960s and aims to provide computer-based vocational guidance services, similar to those provided by counselors. Therefore, it was sought to evaluate vocational indecision, self efficacy, career maturity and anxiety regarding career choice, utilizing the career construction theory. Participated 38 high school seniors from public and private schools, of both genders, aged 16 to 18 years from the rio dos sinos valley region. The pre-and post-test, also performed online, had the following tools: vocacional indecision scale, career decision- making self efficacy scale, career choice maturity scale, anxiety assessment, a family and clinical sociodemographic questionnaire. The intervention had 6 vocational orientation sessions. The results showed that when comparing the post-test intra and intergroup scores, there was a significant statistical difference in career maturity choice, self efficacy and vocational indecision. There was no change in anxiety. These results revealed the skill acquisition for career decision making in a mature way and the increased feeling in ability to make a career choice. Computer assisted career guidance systems contribuited to senior high school students career choice. The limitations of the study are discussed and further research with the online method of intervention is suggested.Nenhuma
