Comportamentos autolesivos em adolescentes do sexo feminino: prática, sentimentos, percepções e relações familiares
Description
Family relationships and emotion management for adolescent has been subject of researches through time. The results of national and international investigations point out particular conditions of adolescence, such as personality characteristics, family dynamics, among others, as risk factors or protection for the development of emotional and behavioral issues. One of the main and growing issues among teenagers that have been generating discomfort in parents, teachers, psychiatrists and therapists, is the self-injurious behavior (SB), which is also still an unexplored field in Brazil. In this context, this research aims to understand the perceptions of teenagers regarding their self-injurious behavior, how they manage their emotions and investigate possible associations of these behaviors with their family characteristics. In order to obtain this data, a research of qualitative, cross-sectional and exploratory character was developed using the multiple cases method. In this research, four adolescents with self-injurious behavior have participated by answering to a semi-structured interview. Through the data obtained, two articles were created, called: “Self-injurious Behaviors and Emotions Management in Female Teenagers: characteristics, feelings and perceptions” and “The Family Role in Self-Injurious Non Suicidal Cases in Girls: the teenagers perception”. The results matched with most of the international researches found regarding how the SB occurs and how family relationship can influence emotional and behavioral issues.Nenhuma
