dc.description.abstractEmotional and behavioral problems are prevalent nowadays and their identification is necessary to prevent important clinical states and truancy. In this sense, this dissertation discusses the relation between emotional and behavioral problems and school performance of adolescents who are attending the final years of elementary school from the evaluation of multiple informants. It consists of three studies with quantitative approach. In the first one, we sought to evaluate the correlation between adolescents, relatives and teachers on the adolescents’ emotional and behavioral problems, as well as to analyze the indicators of internalizing and externalizing behaviors perceived by each informant. In the second one, the relation between the emotional and behavioral problems and school performance of adolescents from their relatives’, teachers’ and their own evaluation. In the third study, we sought to evaluate the predictive power of emotional and behavioral indicators of adolescents’ school performance.as well as considering the evaluation of their relatives and teachers. To achieve this goal, 70 adolescents from two public schools in Porto Alegre/RS participated, as well as an equal number of their families and some teachers. It is expected that the results obtained may underpin proposals of intervention with adolescents, families and school to develop promotion actions of mental health and prevention of school, emotional and behavioral problems.en
