A tecnotropicalidade em Aquarius
Description
In this thesis we carry out archeocartographies for the examination of technotropicality, an ethical, technoaesthetic and thus technocultural becoming that acts in materialities since the European invasion to the geopolitical range currently delimited as the Brazilian nation. Our research episteme branches out from Bergsonian phenomenology and Benjamin's fostering. It is therefore a philosophical craftsmanship of communication. Our approach is constituted by non-linearity, establishing literary montage as the writing strategy. We are interested in the impact of time on materialities, from this principle we exorcise the technotropical in the Aquarius film-archive (Kleber Mendonça Filho, 2016), and from there we followed its inscribed tracks since Baroque literature period. It is an invention based on intuition as an originally method. We followed it radically to the point where a new concept was forged. According to our investigation, technotropicality came from an inner intention, building a national identity, and an external one, commercializing the resulting ethicities abroad. Crossing that derived images of innumerable characteristics extracted from the memory of the people and its tropical landscape. It is, since the effort of the military dictatorship (1964-1985) to connect the country, considered an “authentic” and hegemonic technoculture, but not for that reason uncritical. It appears as a field of technoaesthetic dispute, mirror of our deepest contradictions, becoming one of the most vibrant Brazilian ethicities.CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior
