dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to compare the model’s performance indicators with the
institutional development plan from the universities, verifying how close or how far they
are from the social responsibility model. For this purpose, a description of the
unniversity social responsibility was conducted with a bibliometric study and literature
review that resulted in the choice of the model that would be used to support the
analyses. This research, of descriptive-analytical and documental nature, addresses
the social responsibility that is being developed in Brazilian universities, especially in
the southern region, in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030
Agenda. In order to understand the development level of the academic social
responsibility based on development goals, the Union of University Social
Responsibility of Latin America and the Caribbean model was used, which consists of
12 goals and 66 performance indicators that allow the profile of a higher education
institution to be outlined. Thus, five universities were selected in the southern region
of Brazil (FURB, PUCRS, UDESC, UFPR and UNICESUMAR) were selected, which
differ in their administrative nature. The qualitative approach was used for the
investigation, with a documental analysis by means of the content analysis technique.
After the analysis, it became evident that the universities practices related to social
responsibility are not fully adhered with the model used, however they partially adhere
to these same indicators, making it possible to fulfill the university's mission in
promoting the production and dissemination of knowledge in the field of education
higher in southern Brazil. | en |
