The instruments were: Questionnaire of sociodemographic data, The Three-Factor Eating Questionnaire, Scale of Positive and Negative Affections, and Scale of Character Forces. Even less negative and more positive affects, less emotional and uncontrolled eating behavior. The forces of critical thinking, modesty, self-regulation, perseverance, social intelligence, hope, spirituality, forgiveness, appreciation of beauty, favor cognitive restriction. Article II (qualitative) analyzed factors that facilitate, and hinder healthy habits and strengths of character related to the maintenance of the weight of seven people. Learning and discipline favor habits, some situations, emotions, and dissatisfaction with life can make them difficult. The strengths of the character used by the participants are self-regulation, persistence, love of learning, appreciation of beauty, and humor. In conclusion, the development of character strengths can be an important strategy for healthy eating behavior and weight maintenance.Nenhuma
