dc.description.abstract | The theme of the work refers to technological innovations and the influences on the competitive dynamics in the means of payment market of the financial industry in Brazil. In the last decades there have been changes in this market, influenced by forces in its environment of competition, regulation, globalization and technological advances, with direct effects on the structuring of the market, modifying models, conduct and performance of companies. The Brazilian financial market presents a high concentration of market in its traditional banking players, robust and recurring profits, added to a significant portion of the population that still does not have a bank account. Therefore, this study aims to answer the following research problem: how is the competition dynamics currently characterized in the payment industry market in Brazil's financial industry, considering contemporary and influential technological innovations in this segment? To this end, bibliographic research and primary data collection were developed, in an exploratory and descriptive work. Field research was carried out and a semi-structured script was applied for interviews with executives from major players and market specialists. Qualitative analysis of the collected data was carried out, with content analysis. It is concluded that the introduction of technological innovations, added to changes in market regulation, implied a change in the competitive dynamics in the means of payment segment. It can be understood that there were disruptive and incremental innovations, which led to a change in the market, which, even in the oligopoly structure, is more permeable to different business initiatives that benefit consumers and the market in general. | en |
