Sobre flechas e canetas: faces da política indígena na Manaus contemporânea (1980 2019)
Description
This paper examines and is also focused upon the history of the formation of indigenous politics of the city of Manaus, capital city of the Amazon State, Brazil. The theoretical horizon that guide this narrative is based on the discussions around the concept of “Adaptive Resistance”, which is a consequence of efforts connected to the historiographical tradition that became known as “New Indigenous History”. The main purpose of this narrative is based on the understanding of how the action of indigenous group, in the city of Manaus, is able to create new paths for the development of this discussion. To accomplish this goal, this research was based on field surveys and direct observation carried out among native organizations in the city of Manaus, as well as other resources such as relevant literature and other written sources. The analytical effort used throughout this narrative resulted in a new concern about the local indigenous political projects, in recent decades, based on a tension between facts observed in various cases of indigenous politics throughout the city of Manaus and surrounding areas.CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior
