| dc.description.abstract | This research aimed to investigate strategies that can facilitate the conversation between architect / client, approaching the processes of construction of the architectural program to understand subjective desires and facilitate the making of decisions. The cultural probe tool, used in the area of design, provides certain tasks for the user with the objective of collecting subjective, everyday life information and opens new ways for the construction of the architectural program. This tool was chosen for its original character, for meeting the requirements and for its ease of use. Hence, it was decided to test the cultural probe as a platform of conversation during the construction of the architectural program. The method used in this research encompasses literature review and interviews with architects to understand how the architectural program is constructed and how the cultural probe can be inserted into the process. The test with the cultural probe was performed through a simulation exercise, in which the tool was presented and delivered to the client, collected and handed to the architect. This exercise was carried out by three architect / client double The material produced by the client was used by the architect to assist the conversation in a new meeting. The cultural probe was used as a mediating and argumentative object, in which the professional used the information previously thought and brought by the client to construct the architectural program and tried to discover subjective desires that, oftentimes, are not externalized by the user in the traditional method of interviews. | en |
