dc.description.abstract | The concern with energy efficiency in buildings has been a meaningful issue in construction industry area, and has shown, through environmental certification systems, strategies that aim contemplating sustainability principles, in order to minimize the environmental impacts of constructions. Building facades have a straight impact with its energy consumption, and the decision making about design and execution of the system that constitutes the envelope provide great influence on the set of elements analyzed by certifications. The ventilated facades system with ceramic coating brings a series of advantages, highlighting by the improvement of building termal performance. The company Eliane Revestimentos has a sector responsible for ventilated facades technical solutions, called ElianeTec. This sector studies breakthrough technologies such as Cleantec, a product that once applied on coatings, increases the rating score propability on environmental certitification aspects. LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) points out requirements for achieving the desired score, and the ventilated facade system with ceramic coating represents substantial performance in topics related to energy and atmosphere, innovation, materials and resources and regional priority. There is the high performance in these areas, due to the energy benefits proposed by the system, validating the great possibility to contribute for the rating score, reaching up to 57 points on the sum of the four relevant mentioned areas. | en |
