A atuação política dos think tanks neoliberais brasileiros e argentinos: os casos do instituto liberal, do instituto de estudos empresariais e do instituto para el desarrollo empresarial de la Argentina (1983-1998)
Description
The present thesis analyzes in a comparative way the political action of the think tanks of Brazil and Argentina of the period of redemocratization, until the end of the decade of 1990. These institutes congregated fractions of the new rights of these countries and they were occupied in the diffusion of neoliberalism from a series of strategies, which included the translation and production of didactic material on the free market, the holding of events and training courses for specific audiences, and the constitution of public policy proposals. In Brazil, were analyzed the Instituto Liberal (IL) and the Instituto de Estudos Empresariais (IEE), and in Argentina the Instituto para el Desarrollo Empresarial de la Argentina (IDEA). We investigate in this work the process of expansion and consolidation of these think tanks in order to analyze their performance, in an attempt to develop a consensus for neoliberal policies for Brazil and Argentina in order to influence the direction of the administrative decisions of these countries. Also analyzed are the ways in which these organizations have built and disseminated their ideas for society, which groups have founded and directed them and what their political and economic proposals are for these two societies. These institutes aimed, from a massive process of convincing and internalizing neoliberal perspectives, to present a long-term political-economic project for these countries.CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior
