dc.description.abstract | The objective of the study is to analyze trade opportunities, by simulating a possible trade integration between Brazil and the European Union (EU), considering the elimination of tariff barriers and analyzing the European bloc separately. The classification of products by level of technological intensity was used according to OECD criteria. The computable general equilibrium model is employed through the use of the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP), version 9, in order to measure the results of Brazil-EU integration and to identify the sectors most benefited by the eventual agreement. The results show that there would be welfare gains to those involved in the agreement, increasing overall well-being. Regarding trade, Brazil would specialize in sectors where it has a comparative advantage, increasing imports of manufactured products. This result shows that integration would be an opportunity to open trade. | en |
