Description
The software engineer career demands the development of many technical skill, like language programming knowledge. However, there is also the requirement for the non-technical skills development, also named as soft skills, these competencies are related to the comportamental ability. Through the data analyses collected in a survey with software engineering professionals, this article has the objective to demonstrate how professional who act in this area understanding the importance of the soft skills in their career and in the point of view of these professionals, what is the soft skill which has more impact in their career progression and development and in their daily activities. The results showed that software engineering professionals understand that soft skills have a high impact on the development of their careers as well as their daily activities, but there is not a high concern about the development of these skills.
