dc.description.abstract | Dynamic Capabilities is an approach that explains how companies can obtain competitive advantage along the time trough of perceiving, seizing, and reconfiguring their internal and external competencies in high volatility environments. The objective of this research is to identify and analyze how companies inserted in a low volatility environment operationalize the elements of dynamic capabilities. A descriptive qualitative research was conducted through semi-structured interviews with two textile companies in a region of Santa Catarina, the state which is responsible for a large part of Brazilian production. The history and relevant facts that occurred in these companies and contributed for changes were analyzed, verifying in these moments, the occurrence of the objective. Through the analysis, it was verified that the companies need dynamic capabilities, independent of the environment they are inserted, and that they are important in the companies even in environments of low volatility. But in this type of company, this does not occur disruptively, they are incremental and happen informally, through the intuition of the partners. Companies that operate dynamic capabilities are able to integrate their resources and competencies, creating and sustaining advantages over competitors. | en |
