The need to develop new technologies puts companies and countries in the challenge of establishing relationships and developing new structures that allow greater competitiveness and innovation. In view of this, this dissertation aims to outline the internal processes of itt Performance in the interaction with companies in the civil construction sector. The research was based on the methodology of a unique case study, exploratory and qualitative in nature, having as instrument of data collection semi-structured interview scripts. The content analysis of the data obtained in the interviews was carried out. The field research was carried out with representatives of itt Performance, who understood their vision regarding university-company interaction, unfolded in five interviews. As a result of the research, we can verify the types of interaction that exist in the institute, which revolve around essays and delivery of reports, research of technological development and consultancies. The main motivations of interaction are in the irradiation of specialized knowledge and the barriers in informality and the search of low price. It was also noticed the deficiency of public policies that foment the university-company interaction. With regard to the benefits of interaction, we highlight the university's approach to companies and communities that can be reversed in improvements, innovation and security for society. In view of this, the great contribution of itt Performance comes through the development in innovation and growth of local companies, helping companies to improve their productivity, profitability, agility, quality of their products and delivery of their services.Nenhuma
