Saúde para todos? O caso da rede de atenção psicossocial de Porto Alegre/RS

Abstract

The perception that the promotion of universal and equal access to actions and services Psychosocial Healthcare Network (RAPS) is an inherent attribute of the Unified Health System (SUS), suggests that the Public Administration should structure mechanisms to promote users conditions of therapeutic response to their needs. RAPS Porto Alegre still seeks to achieve universal and equal access to actions and mental health services to users in social vulnerability. The case study of a woman, black, on the streets, pregnant, seropositive for HIV, psychotic and addicted, which contributed to mental health services, proved the persistence of access barriers, and the tension for maintaining the therapeutic hospital. These findings require Manager Public reflections for qualification of access and realization of constitutional and legal provisions in mental health care for vulnerable populations.
